Notable Trees of The Institute

The 35 acres of grounds at The Institute of Living contain numerous trees representing rare or unusually large species. Many of the trees are thought to date back to the 1860's when the ground were redesigned by noted landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted and his associate, Jacob Weidenmann. Photos, illustrations and descriptions of trees provided.
